Importance and Ways to Ground

What is meant by Grounding?

There are many different ways to ground named below.  What I mean by grounding is to be centered, staying sovereign mentally, physically, and emotionally and this can be done by a number of means.  When we are truly grounded we feel it on all levels when we make decisions and our level of energy.

Signs we are not Grounded:

  • Easily deceived
  • Difficulty in making decisions
  • Wobbly on our feet
  • Not sleeping well
  • Feeling fatigued and confused
  • Speaking and actions that are not aligned
  • Poor concentration and not motivated

Ways to Ground

  • A popular and effective method is walking barefoot. I do this in the morning when I am waiting for my breakfast to cook, anywhere you have a space of earth. In doing this my body can absorb millions of electrons. These negatively charged ions and electrons can help detoxify our bodies from free radicals, heavy metals, and air pollution
  • Bathing feet or a bath in Epsom salts and bicarb of soda and oils related to the root chakra.
  • Use of all the elements, lighting a candle, a fire, use of the breath, taking slow deep breaths, having plants in the house. Drink water with intention of grounding.
  • Placing one hand on your heart and one on your crown and feeling the support and breathe.
  • There are various mediations available on breathwork, visualisations, mantras, crystals, and other methods available.
  • Some mindful movement and dancing
  • Spending some time in nature and using all your sense
  • Eating fresh root vegetables
  • Avoid or reduce your use of media as this can take us off course.

If you don’t feel you have time to ground.  There are grounding activities that take little time such as the use of the breath, taking your shoes off even if it is indoors, choice of food, and increase your intake of water.
